Summary: "Best knitting book out there."

If you are only going to buy one knitting book, this is the book to buy. It gives step by step instructions with pictures on hundreds of knitting techniques from basic cast on to fair isle knitting. There are also stitch diagrams, something that is very helpful if you knit from designs you like.

Summary: "Knitting Textbook"

This book is a 'required' text for a intensive knitting 'boot camp' that I'm taking to improve my skills. There are chapters on cast ons, bind-offs, finishing techniques, a small stitch dictionary and a section on designing and graph reading. It's an excellent reference tool. If you're looking for a book of patterns, however, this is NOT the book for you.

I BOUGHT THIS BOOK FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER WHO JUST STARTED KNITTING. IT HAS HELPED HER TO READ KNITTING PATTERNS, UNDERSTAND KNITTING GAUGES AND LEARN ABOUT THE TOOLS OF THE TRADE.

RECENTLY, I USED IT FOR MAKING POCKETS IN A CARDIGAN THAT DIDN'T INCLUDE POCKETS. IT HAS GREAT STITCH PATTERNS AND HAVE USED IT TO DESIGN MY OWN SWEATERS.

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.
